A visible line, the border of the city within the city, extending itself inside the sea, a visible barrier which stimulates the imagination to cross it and discover what lies beyond.
A border, between the city of La Spezia and its arsenal, that adapts its function based on the observer’s point of view.
So it comes the will of evoking the presence with a bullet-proof glass used as a filter, a glass that becomes a case in which memory is conserved, defended by external agents yet able to give back a dominance to the neutrality, coloring the vision.
The glass, used to reproduce the three sections of the arsenal’s wall, pictured together with the drawings of the Napoleonic cartographer Pierre-Antoine Clerc, who studied this geography in 1869, becomes the link between the history of the territory and the arsenal’s contemporary shape, becoming a bridge between the two cities.
